Google is replacing Dolby Atmos & Vision

 

As per protocol post, Google is discussing with other OEM to replace Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision with Google upcoming codec ' project caviar ' 

There is high chance Samsung will adopt this as Samsung doesn't provide Dolby Vision for they TVs.

Apart from samsung other OEM can Switch to Google Project Caviar instead of Dolby Atmos and Vision as Dolby charges License fee of 1 or 2 dollar per device.

Google project caviar will be licences free and open source.

Google at 2021 GoogleIO announced Jetpack Media 3 Library that is still under beta as of now, but Google is Working on some major things on this library that are HDR, Spatial Audio, & AV1 Codec
