As the next 'flagship killer' there is an evident excitement around the upcoming smartphone, and OnePlus has been fuelling the hype by revealing different aspects via its social channels. With just a few days to launch, here's a look at everything you need to know about the upcoming OnePlus 5..




OnePlus 5 launch, pricing, availability

The OnePlus 5 will see two launches. The global launch is scheduled for June 20 and it kicks off at 12:00 PM EDT or 9:30PM IST. The India launch is scheduled for June 22, and the event kicks off at 2:00 PM IST. If all the reports are to be believed, the OnePlus 5 will be the most expensive smartphone from the company yet. The smartphone is likely to be launched in two variants -- 64GB with 6GB RAM, and 128GB with 8GB RAM. The 64GB variant is likely to be priced at Rs 32,999, while the more expensive variant is likely to be priced at Rs 37,999. The OnePlus 5 is expected to soon go on sale post its launch in India, and it will be available exclusively viaAmazon India. Ahead of the launch both OnePlus and Amazon India are hosting contests giving fans a chance to win OnePlus 5.

OnePlus 5 design

Going by the leaked photos we have seen so far the OnePlus 5 looks very different from its predecessors. For one it is really thin at 7.35m. The smartphone is said to flaunt a unibody metal design with curved edges, and antenna bands running at the top and bottom ends. When you look at the photos though, you can't help but see a lot of similarities between the OnePlus 5's design and the Apple iPhone 7 Plus. The design also resembles the recently launched Oppo R11.


OnePlus 5 specifications, features

A lot has been discuss about the kind of specifications and features that the OnePlus 5 will offer. While some have been teased by the company itself, others have been found on the rumor mills. One of the first feature that was revealed by the company was the SoC. The OnePlus 5, not surprisingly, is powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 835 SoC. A screenshot posted earlier by the OnePlus chief confirmed that the smartphone will feature a full HD resolution display (1080p).
The smartphone was long-rumored to sport a dual rear camera setup but the official word came in yesterday from none other than the company itself. In a tweet, the dual-camera setup on the smartphone was confirmed. The caption on the teaser image was pretty clear -- 'Dual Camera. Clearer Photos'. The exact specs of the dual-camera setup is not clear yet. As for selfie lovers, there's likely to be a 16-megapixel snapper up front.



Moreover, OnePlus has reportedly been working with DxOMark for camera improvement, and the company has teased the camera's prowess by sharing a couple of camera samples on its social media channels. From the teaser images, OnePlus 5 is expected to showcase improved low-light performance with minimal noice. and plenty of details.
Other notable details confirmed include the trademark Dash Charge support on board. Fuelling the smartphone is likely to be a 3,300mAh battery, which incidentally is smaller than the 3,400mAh battery in the OnePlus 3T. OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei also dropped a OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 5 audio comparison video and the improvement is significant. OnePlus 5 features wide dynamic range microphone which captures audio on the smartphone.
